For those of you who are not aware of the recent topic of giving the security to some of the Unites States largest ports to the UAE, or UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, read on. If you already know about this, then you are already upset, I am sure.

Seems like our great President, MONKEY BOY BUSH!, wants to hand over the security to several of our largest ports, like Miami, New Orleans, and Port Newark, to those friendly terrorist backing, haters of Americans, when it fits their agenda, camel riding fuckers across the globe.

I don't know about you, but it sounds like a piss poor idea to me. Is Mr. Pres so desperate to line his already fat pockets with more of that blood stained cash?

NEW YORK (MONEY Magazine) - If you've dreamed of investing in real estate but don't want to miss out on the kids' Little League games, partnerships may be the answer.
A limited partnership allows a group of people to pool their money to invest in one or more properties. But you won't chase tenants or stay up nights worrying whether to replace the roof. These pools are run by a general partner who oversees all the work, while you can collect your quarterly check and get your lawn mowed.

And unlike with real estate investment trusts or funds, you'll be able to invest in properties located in your own backyard, where you're more likely to know a thing or two about local values.
That's the good stuff. The bad stuff is that today's partnerships may remind you of the notorious tax shelters of the early 1980s. True, one of the attractions of any real estate partnership is its tax advantage.
Investors write off depreciation, claiming a portion of the value of the investment each year; on paper this might wipe out much of your earnings that would be reported to Uncle Sam. (Careful: The taxes you'd have owed are deferred, not forgiven; you'll have to pay the IRS sometime, just not now.)
But Stan Ross, chairman of the Lusk Center for Real Estate at the University of Southern California, says that's where the resemblance to the 1980s ends. "Today's partnerships have more equity and less leverage. They're driven more by the economics of the deal, not the tax break."
Who's selling these things? Sometimes it's an accountant or financial adviser with real estate contacts. Mostly, though, it's up to you to develop a network that could lead you to such deals. Ask a local real estate attorney if she knows someone who knows someone. A local real estate investor club can be a good start too.
Do your research
But before you pony up the $20,000 or more it takes to participate in a partnership, take this advice to heart.
Devour the prospectus Every deal has a write-up of the investment that you will want to study. You learn about the property, the time horizon for the investment and the general partner's record.
Look for the words "preferred return." This is the amount of money the general partner has to earn and hand over to people like you before he takes his cut of the remaining profits. Typically, a preferred return is 7 to 9 percent.
Vet the top guy You're riding on the general partner's coattails, so make sure he's running the project on behalf of you and your fellow shareholders.
Skip a G.P. who doesn't have skin in the game -- or not enough. His investment should represent at least 5 percent of invested capital.
Compare this money with the fees the G.P. stands to make: If he plans to invest $50,000 but will make $100,000 in fees over the life of the partnership, that's a clear warning sign to stay away.
Watch the fees Index fund fans, steel yourselves: Partnerships are pricey.
You can pay from 1 to 5 percent in acquisition fees up front and 3 to 5 percent on each year's gross receipts, plus an asset management fee on profits.
Therefore, consider passing on a deal with a preferred return below 5 percent, says Glenn Sonnenberg of Legg Mason Real Estate Investors.
Be patient Partnerships are tough to sell if you need to retrieve your money fast. (There's not much of an after-market for partnership stakes.)
Typically, your money will be locked away for up to 10 years; if you can't afford to think of it as out of circulation, invest elsewhere.
Go for vanilla Invest in familiar things that make sense no matter the state of the economy, like apartments and stores.
"Everyone needs a place to live and a place to shop," Sonnenberg notes. "Buy rental income that has stood the test of time."
In other words, head for the exits if someone starts touting restaurants or hotels or assisted-living centers or such. And always keep your investment close to home -- where you can benefit most from your knowledge of the market.

How about the photo of Britney Spears and her son, driving down the road with the kid being in her lap? Is there something wrong with this picture? Hell yes! Even K Fed would have more sense than to keep the kid in his lap, while driving one handed, wouldn't he?
What the hell was Britney thinking? I think Britney's thong underwear must be cutting off critical blood flow to the brain or something. Maybe she should enroll her and Kevin in some parenting classes. Or give the kid up to a charity that places kids in homes where the parents IQ, if added together, is above 56! These two retards should never have reproduced!
I guess it could be worse though. At least this kid's parents are human! Think about all the crazy alien shit you will start seeing once Tom Cruise(alien) and his, whatever she is, Katie Holmes(alien in training), produce their child.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally wounded a companion with shotgun pellets on a weekend quail hunt in Texas, his office said on Sunday.
Cheney's companion, Harry Whittington, 78, was listed in stable condition after being brought in on Saturday night, said Yvonne Wheeler, a spokeswoman for the Christus Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Cheney's office said Whittington, an Austin lawyer, had been sprayed by birdshot while hunting at the Armstrong Ranch in south Texas.
Cheney spokeswoman Lea Anne McBride said the vice president had been with Whittington at the hospital on Sunday.
"The vice president visited with Harry Whittington at the hospital and was pleased to see he is doing fine and in good spirits," McBride said.
Cheney's office provided no details on the circumstances of the accident.
CNN reported that Cheney had his gun cocked and whirled around to fire at a bird not realizing that Whittington had walked up without announced himself.
Cheney has been a frequent visitor to the Armstrong Ranch and in October spoke at the funeral of family patriarch Tobin Armstrong.
Armstrong's wife, Anne, served as U.S. ambassador to Britain and as an adviser to presidents Nixon, Reagan and George Bush.
The 50,000-acre ranch was settled in 1882 by his grandfather, John Armstrong III, a Texas Ranger known for capturing outlaw John Wesley Hardin.
Whittington serves on the Texas state Funeral Services Commission and the state Office of Patient Protection and is a former member of the board of the Texas Department of Corrections.

Who doesn't want to live like Paris Hilton, Donald Trump, or even P Diddy? You know.....Rich and Famous! Running around with celebrities, and the "beautiful" people. Driving luxury automobiles , sailing on expensive yachts, and living in one of your many mansion type homes
Wouldn't it be nice to make a bundle of money quickly, with minimal effort, working at home or from the beach? Of course it would! I know I wanted to have more time and money to spend with my family and not have a boss looking at his watch, every time I came into the office.
Whether it is real estate, selling classified ads, stock market investing, internet affiliate marketing, stuffing envelopes from home, or something else, we have all seen the adds about people making tons of cash, and how they can show you how to do the same. I will tell you that 95% of them are frauds. You, like I, may have fallen prey to the promises of gold paved roads already. After I got burned once or twice, I got FED UP! When 60 Minutes Wednesday first reported on eBay two years ago, there were an estimated 50 million people worldwide using the Web site. What started as a hobby is now a cultural phenomenon. But, as Correspondent Charlie Rose reports, eBay seems to have tapped into something uniquely American and entrepreneurial. It's an auction house that never sleeps, where anyone can be a buyer or a seller. “You have to remember that in September of 1998, 8 percent of the items on eBay were Beanie Babies," says CEO Meg Whitman. And she says it's only the beginning. "I think I am most surprised by the fact that we have become the largest site on the Web for the buying and selling of used cars, motorcycles and auto parts," says Whitman. "So from Beanie Babies to Beamers, I'm not sure that anyone would have actually have predicted that." And no one could have predicted that within two years of our original story, the number of eBay users would more than double, to more than 125 million worldwide today. Those people are buying and selling more than $1,000 worth of goods every second. An Internet pioneer, eBay is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary.

As many as 150,000 people have literally given up their jobs to create their own businesses selling on eBay. Laurie Liss and her mother, Darlene, armed with little more than a computer, a camera, and something to sell, built their own eBay business that is now selling $30,000 to $40,000 in goods a month. "It's almost like the world's largest garage sale, even though for some people, they're selling used," says Laurie Liss. "We're selling new." The lure of a bargain, combined with the excitement of a Las Vegas gamble, is what brings in millions of Internet customers. The loyalty and enthusiasm of devoted eBay users all over the country is what has helped build eBay into the powerhouse it is today. "It’s a gamble. There's a little bit of gambling. Am I going to get the auction,” says Kathleen, a buyer who claims she now looks on eBay "for anything I need in the house, before I go out." This includes Tupperware, small appliances, clothing, Christmas and wedding gifts. An eBay auction works exactly the same way as an old-fashioned one: the highest bidder wins. For example, Mike Benson, a St. Louis lawyer, is looking for a rare baseball card of Stan Musial. In seconds, he finds 84 different Stan Musial cards up for auction on eBay, including one for the very card he wants. To bid, he simply enters the highest amount he’s willing to spend. In this case, it's $50. He eventually lost the card to a higher bid of $63. Every time there’s a sale, eBay takes a cut of the action. As a result, eBay’s market value is now worth more than Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Sears, and Toys ‘R Us combined. “It was an entirely new idea that took advantage of the Net," says Whitman. This is a marketplace where a Madonna fan can buy an outfit from the singer’s world tour, and a prospective homeowner can spend $2,100,100 for a country house in New York State with its own missile silo. Sixteen million items are up for sale every day. And eBay users aren't just buying and selling -- they're also talking online in chat rooms. "We spend more time together on the boards than I do with my family," says Judy, an eBay user. Four years ago, Laurie Liss began selling discounted designer clothes and shoes that she picked up on sale at department stores. Now, the entire family is part of the action. Laurie models an outfit, her sister snaps the picture, her brother-in-law puts it on eBay. As the bids start coming in, her mother monitors the auction. The shipping department is in the kitchen, where mom and dad are packing boxes to send around the globe. They keep their inventory - their Prada shoes, their Guccis, and their Chanels - in the garage. They ran out of room in their original home, so they just bought three new houses all in a row with their eBay profits. “We don’t do it to make a fortune,” Laurie says. “We do it just so we can stay home. I stay home with my son. It's like we all just work together. And it's like we have a good time.” And it's a good family business. That’s when the heavy hitters arrived. Now, IBM sells home computers on eBay and Disney offers vacations and all things Mickey and Minnie. With all this action, eBay has hit the jackpot. Profits are up 71 percent in from this time last year, almost a quarter of that from these direct sales. “Big companies do sell on eBay,” says Whitman. “And they find it to be a very cost-effective distribution channel. But they sell on the same terms as you, an individual, would sell.” There is no advertising and no promotion: "We think it's important to have this level playing field," adds Whitman. "So your neighbor next door has an equal chance of success as a large corporation." “By Monday afternoon, Labor Day, I had the site up.” He sees its potential as limitless and has even developed a feedback system, rating customer satisfaction. The company had a reward for its big sellers -- access to low-cost premium health insurance, a fitting reward for the mom-and-pop sellers who form the backbone of eBay. Whitman says that the buyers and sellers make up eBay: “We actually do work for them,” she says. “That is not a myth. That is not a PR spin. That actually happens to be the case. And it's the soul of eBay. By the people. For the people.”
